X-Message-Number: 4469 From: (Ralph Merkle) Newsgroups: sci.cryonics Subject: Nature on nanotechnology Date: 30 May 1995 18:49:40 GMT Message-ID: <3qfpc4$> The British journal Nature recently reviewed Ed Regis' new book, "Nano: the emerging science of nanotechnology;" published by Little, Brown; 1995. The review was by David E. H. Jones and was over two pages long. Jones spent much of the review attacking the technical feasibility of nanotechnology. He displayed an amazing ignorance of the field, and had rather obviously not even read "Nanosystems: Molecular Machinery, Manufacturing and Computation" by K. Eric Drexler, Wiley 1992. As the review was in a (sometimes) reputable journal and might be assumed by those unacquainted with the field to have some merit, I wrote a detailed critique.
