The point that humans have very high endurance, relative to the animal
kingdom at large, is interesting. We are usually led to believe that
Homo sapiens is remarkable only for its brain, and is physically 
unexceptional - remember poor little naked Mowgli? Come to think of it, 
remember Mowgli outrunning the red dogs? Maybe Kipling knew more than he 
thought he did . . .
