The Summer Biotechnology Institute (SBI) was established in 1994 by the
Northwestern University Center for Biotechnology (NUCB) as part of its
friendly
outreach program to industry, government, and academia. Every July, a
series of
free one-day symposia are held to highlight topics of emerging interest in
biotechnology, and to foster the exchange of ideas and promote collaborative
efforts among attendees.
