X-Message-Number: 4624 Date: 13 Jul 95 00:07:59 EDT From: Mike Darwin <> Subject: Free Heart-lung machines To any interested party: We have two old heart-lung machines which we are about to scrap out. One is a Pemco 5 pump head unit and the other is a PAR with four pump heads. The PAR is unusual in that the pump heads are side- mounted. Both machines are in good working order. The Pemco is build like an anvil and weighs twice as much. It has a working telethermometer and all but one of the pump heads is operational; the one that isn't has a broken fuse holder which is easily fixed. I have pumped a lot of dogs on these machines, and I hate to seem them go into the trash. On the other hand, I have two Sarns 5000s, two AO machines, and a Sarns modular 4 -head console: all in good condition, not to mention a Biomedicus centrifugal system. In other words, I have heart-lung machines coming out my ears. We are expanding our vivarum space and now are becoming tight on floor space in the warehouse. If anybody wants these machine and will pay crating and shipping charges, they are yours for the asking. I know its a long shot, but I had to ask. Contact Mike Darwin at the above e-mail adress or phone (after 1200 PST) (909)987-3883. A final caution: these machines are ancient, but they work and have worked very reliably for us. Certainly the heads and motors are in good condition. NOTE: since I am posting this to several lists, I want to make clear that requests from the CCML list will have priority, particularly any coming from Russia, Ukraine or Eastern Europe.
