The real problem is that people who may consider cryonics are
freedom-orientated, and in order to make those arrangements they have to
interact with authority figures (lawyers and other professionals) and tie up
their money in trusts or life insurance, rather than use it in their
freedom program. There is no solution to these problems at present.

On the other hand, it is quite easy to buy electronic equipment, or theorise
about buying it, and carry out experiments. Imagine what the computer
industry would be like of the pioneers of personal computers has to get
prescriptions for electronic parts, put thousands of dollars into trust or
insurance, or if they had to undergo five years of training before they
could wield a soldering iron? If you buy a load of gear second hand for an
experiment, provide you don't consume it (ie break it) you can sell it on
again second hand if the experiment doesn't work or indeed if you donlt
want it again. Much electronic innovation done after the war was done using
war surplus equipment.

Arguments about downloading/uploading as opposed to cryonic suspension are
made irrevant by the fact you can sign up for cryonics right now, (if you
are prepared to face the difficulties mentioned) whereas there is no
organisation that will come and take your body at the point of death and
upload the program and data in the brain into a computer.

There is no choice. Cryonics is the only option available.

Cryonics is the second worst thing that can happen to you. Being dead and
cremated or buried is the worst.
