Subject: third world cryonics

I agree that Robin Helweg-Larson's idea of providing a cryonics
facility in the Bahamas is a good one. However I also find myself
agreeing with Paul Wakfer's reservations about this as well. Perhaps
Robin might want to consider providing a cryonics facility that does not
itself provide long-term storage. This would sidestep Paul's
 reservations.
The best reason for such a facility might be illustrated by the
following wholely fictional account of a Bahamian deanimation:

  1. Mike Darwin gets the call that his patient is terminal.
  2. Mike throws the perfusion equipment into the pickup
     and floors the gas petal.
  3. ...then drives 2000 miles.
  4. ...then boards a steamer to the Bahamas.
  5. ...gets turned back to the USA.
  6. ...borrows a rowboat and rows back to the Bahamas.
  7. ...dodges the immigration authorities who are
        demanding a work visa.
  8. ...spends some time backpacking in the mountains
to throw the feds off his trail.
  9. Finally arrives at the home of his patient.
 10. Is directed to the local cemetary where he can pay
     his last respects...
