BioTime is a low-temperature medicine research firm started by Trans-Time affiliated cryonics researchers Paul Segal, Hal Sternberg, and Harold Waitz. They successfully raised millions in venture capital in the late 80's (originally poured into a company called Cryomedical Sciences) after national media exposure of a biologically-mediocre dog hypothermia experiment. (They recovered a dog after 20 minutes of hypothermic circulatory arrest, while rival cryonics groups had in fact gotten dogs back after FOUR HOURS of arrest years earlier, but without the media hoopla.) BioTime is now a public company listed on the NASDAQ. I don't know if they have any marketable products yet. ---Brian Wowk Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=4915
