Subject: My response to David Stodolsky re collectivism and cryonics

My definitions:

Collectivism: The doctrine that individual people exist for the sake
of a group of people, e.g. a nation.

Individualism: The doctrine that individuals exist for their own sake,
rather than for the sake of some other individual such as a king, or
for the sake of a group, or for the sake of a god or other supernatural
entity.

Individualism implies that groups, like every other man-made thing,
exists for the benefit of individuals.

I am puzzled that you seem to be interested in cryonics, since you
seem to be a collectivist. It will always be cheaper and easier for
The People to breed and train new workers rather than cryopreserve and
later revive terminally ill workers. Cryonics only makes sense from
an individualist perspective.
