Subject: Encounters, Leary, and a plea.

No one seems to have mentioned the recent broadcast of Encounters that
dealt with cryonics. In case you missed it, the segment was very good.
It lead in with accounts of mainstream cryo-surgery that lent a lot of
credibility to cryonics. Although it was rather brief, I don't believe
there was even one negative comment aimed at cryonics.

After some good explanations from Steve Bridge there was a short interview
with Timothy Leary. Unfortunately he is expected to deanimate within 6 months.
Since he was very open about his plans, I am wondering if Alcor or anyone
has thought of making the best of this unfortunate situation. The info-
tainers are quite likely to have a field day with the suspension of a
celebrity.

On an unrelated note, I am wondering if anyone can give me some direction
towards particular medical information. My grandfather in Canada is facing
amputation because of arterial restrictions in his leg (at least that is how
I understand the problem, the doctors refuse to use big useful words). On his
own he has gone to a doctor for chelation therapy. If anyone could email me
with advice or point me in a useful direction, I would be very appreciative.

                                Thanks,
                                Martin
