Subject: The incomprehensible is incompressible

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

In looking over one of my old posts, #5443, I found a line that made me blush.
I was talking about the question "What is the meaning of meaning?" and I said
that unless I already knew the answer:

"The very question would be incompressible to me"

Incompressible? How on earth did I get that? My mind was thinking
"incomprehensible" but my fingers were typing "incompressible" and the
two have nothing to do with each other... Or do they? ... Wait a minute,
if it's incomprehensible then there is no pattern, it's random, and it's
well known in computer science that a random sequence is... incompressible.
That's the ticket! It wasn't an error on my part at all, oh no, it was all
part of my grand master plan.

And if you believe that, I have some swamp land I'd like to sell you,
I think it has oil on it.
