For a young healthy person, motion or heartbeat sensors are much
more likely to give a false alarm than a true one.  For alarms to be
practical, there would have to be someone local to check on them.

Otherwise, there would be numerous cases of a suspension team flying
thousands of miles with all their equipment, only to find that their
patient is fine.  And a few cases of the sensor failing to notify
anyone of a real death due to a dead battery or broken transmitter.

For people who live alone such as myself, maybe the sensor could be
hooked to the thermostat, so as to turn off the heat and turn on the
air conditioner full blast?
