I'm curious. Has any government in history ever imprisoned a person
for selling vitamins?

[ Vitamins are, in many cases, refined versions of traditional herbal
remedies. Has anyone ever been imprisoned, or worse, for promoting
herbal remedies? (Do the Salem witch trials come to mind?)
But, more apropos for cryonicists, how have alternative health
care practices fared in the United States? (Cryonics is really an
alternative health care practice, not a method of disposition for
  dead people.) - KQB ]
