"BUG JACK BARRON" by Norman Spinrad I thought this was a fantastic treatment of the political aspects of immortality. This has probably already been mentioned here. 2.) "HEADS" by Greg Bear This short novel is truly "chilling." It deals realistically with the dispersal of cryonics organization after going bankrupt and offers a weird glimpse into a kind of uploading. Has anyone read "Fire Pattern" by Bob Shaw? This is a pretty corny novel about Spontaneous Human Combustion (a seemingly least-likely subject under which to find cryonics-related material!). Interestingly, the fictional cyronics group in this novel (stationed in Antarctica, of course) is called "CryoCare." I thought this was funny. Are any members of the actual CryoCare aware of this? -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Mac Tonnies 509 Phillips Hall Northwest Missouri State University Maryville, MO 64468 (816) 562-6716 http://www.nwmissouri.edu/~0211555/apu.html -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=5699
