Subject: CI costs from Europe

Garret Smyth (#5698) had some rather confused comments on costs of Cryonics
Institute suspension including washout and perfusion by Albin's funeral home
in England and shipment to Michigan.

He is correct that Albin's current estimate is about $3,000 for his services
in the London area and transport to Michigan. Obviously, distances and
condtions in other parts of Europe could increase this somewhat, but nowhere
near enough to double the basic CI fee of $28,000.

As for the private plane on standby, this is a standing arrangement and the
costs quoted to Mr. Smyth for one-time emergency arrangements by other
charter services are irrelevant. Further, the plane would NOT be used as an
air ambulance, but just to get the Albin team quickly to the death site. Once
prepared, the patient would be shipped via ordinary commercial carrier.

As for payment arrangements, this can be done either directly with Albin--and
would NOT require a "much larger sum in life insurance"--or the estimated
local and shipment costs, plus any cushion desired for future changes, can be
added to the CI funding, and Albin's will bill CI.
