But Brenda Peters was doing signups when Leary joined > CryoCare, and she knows him extremely well. Charles, it there any chance that Brenda could visit Timothy and see if she could persuade him to allow Mike back in? And perhaps she could talk to Mike about not canceling the suspension. It would be worth a try. Timothy is a very kind and gentle person who is worth the extra effort. > As for the idea of Leary living at Ventureville ... this is something I > would really love to see. We would all like to see this. The point is that we screwed up with the present VentureVille is some ways as we started with a large house and one apartment. This type of living arrangement is not going to work. We need to buy or construct an apartment-type complex with other nice things like a pool and clubhouse for people to gather. The problem is that even if we had this it would take several years to fill up all the apartments and so the cash flow would be very negative during the first few years. The saving grace is that just as Alcor did very well on the building they became involved with, VentureVille land and house have also appreciated and there is a profit to be made if I sell it. This could be rolled over to offset the cost of an apartment complex. Other cryonicists have done well in Arizona real estate. The Ettingers have bought a lovely home here that I feel is in an area of strong appreciation. The Comos family bought a commercial lot here several years ago and the value has tripled. Arizona and Florida are the two best states to invest in real estate right now (in general). I wish we had more resources and would have had a nice place to Timothy to come to. From your description maybe he would not have been dropped if he had been surrounded by cryonicists rather than people who encourage others not to be suspended. ??? VentureVille will be for all cryonicists. One of the controversial policies suggested for consideration would be a policy where terminal, senile cryonicist would not be left alone with friends or relatives that are hostile to cryonics. Then there is the question of what kind of legal problems the Venturists might have trying to enforce a policy like this. Anyhow, until we get more money, there is no present VentureVille that can be used in this way. Dave Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=6203
