The idea that > I somehow spread anti-cryonics sentiments is insulting and bizarre, > especially since Keith Henson, another Alcor director, has stated > unequivocally that it is almost impossible to change Leary's mind about > anything. If I understand Henson correctly, I would not have been able to > turn Leary against cryonics even if I had wanted to. This is true, and just for the record I NEVER said that Mike or Charles *consciously* turned Leary or his friends against cryonics. All I did was illustrate that there were apparent tensions between Leary, his friends and the people at BPI and CryoCare which is sustained by the Los Angeles Times article that I posted as well as Platt's own account of what happened during the initial withdrawl. They didn't convince him of anything so much as they alienated him (there's a difference). There's no disagreement that CryoCare lured Timothy away from Alcor, probably with the hopes that he would be their first real big news story which would have gained them notoriety. Whether Tim was in his right mind when he was led astray, I'll leave that up to the reader to go figure. The advantage that CryoCare took was soliciting him as a member, and of course they say that despite the fact that he is no longer signed up they will still prepare a "detailed discussion" for their various publications after he croaks. If I were Tim, I'd feel like I had just been ran over by a ill-humor truck! Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=6235
