Cryonics seems to be advancing on a slow but steady path, >where space flight seems to be going in fits and starts. There is also the sad reality that the resource allocation between these two pursuits differs by about 6 orders of magnitude. In short, people are much more interested in watching space travel on T.V. than living long enough to ever do it themselves. Of course, there are notable exceptions. Alcor directors Keith Henson (co-founder of the original L5 Society), and Mark Voelker (prominent NSS activist) are hedging their bets with cryonics. Leading cryonics researcher Mike Darwin's first passion in life was space colonization, and mine was as well. It's as though after the space power satellite hoopla died out 15 years ago, the hard core space enthusiasts quietly regrouped and cooked up a slightly different plan. :) *************************************************************************** Brian Wowk CryoCare Foundation 1-800-TOP-CARE President Human Cryopreservation Services http://www.cryocare.org/cryocare/ --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=6270
