	There is also the sad reality that the resource allocation
between these two pursuits differs by about 6 orders of magnitude.
In short, people are much more interested in watching space travel
on T.V. than living long enough to ever do it themselves. 

	Of course, there are notable exceptions.  Alcor directors
Keith Henson (co-founder of the original L5 Society), and Mark
Voelker (prominent NSS activist) are hedging their bets with
cryonics.  Leading cryonics researcher Mike Darwin's first
passion in life was space colonization, and mine was as well.
It's as though after the space power satellite hoopla died out
15 years ago, the hard core space enthusiasts quietly regrouped
and cooked up a slightly different plan. :)
