Subject: Australia law

Word from Australia is that the Supreme Court of the Northern Territory has
not made a decision on the voluntary euthanasia legislation scheduled to go
into effect July 1. The single judge sitting on the case said that because
of the complexities of the issues he wants to convene a full bench hearing
of three judges on the 1st and 2nd of July. Meanwhile, however, there is no
injunction against the new law. The Northern Territory Voluntary Euthanasia
Society does not expect the court challenge to prevail.
