First and foremost, one should be aware that Penrose's argument is universally agreed to be flawed by most all logicians who are experts on such incompleteness results and related topics. Perhaps the leading expert in this area is Sol Feferman, who has written an insightful review of "Shadows of the Mind" in the recent issue of the electronic journal PSYCHE, which issue also contains ten other reviews of said book.
