Since we have no sci.logic FAQ, I thought it might be useful to
collect together some references on this oft-recurring topic.

First and foremost, one should be aware that Penrose's argument
is universally agreed to be flawed by most all logicians who 
are experts on such incompleteness results and related topics.
Perhaps the leading expert in this area is Sol Feferman, who has
written an insightful review of "Shadows of the Mind" in the
recent issue of the electronic journal PSYCHE, which issue also
contains ten other reviews of said book. See the following web
