	For the first time in many years (too many years), I sense
cryonicists standing upon a large expanse of common ground.   We
all agree that a research breakthrough is needed, it will be expensive,
but that the resources to achieve it exist *within the cryonics
community* if we all join together.

	Organ preservation experts tell us that The Prometheus Project
can succeed if it reaches its target funding of $1,000,000 a year for
10 years.  If a test campaign among a group of 22 can raise $100,000 a year,
then a funding drive among the 200+ readers of CryoNet can surely top
$1,000,000!  Perfected suspended animation of the brain is ours for the
taking-- IF WE REALLY WANT IT!
       
	I am pledging approximately 8% of my current income as a 
graduate student, or $1000 U.S. dollars a year.  I challenge other
cryonicists on this list to match this percentage, or better it.

	In addition, I am pleased to announce that the CryoCare Foundation
will sponsor the Prometheus Project at a rate $10,000 a year.
We may have to sacrifice some promotional work to meet this pledge,
but right now I'm much more excited about promoting this Project 
and its goals than promoting ancient freezing methods.  Let's
blow the lid off today's cryonics technology, and bring on the cryonics
technology of the 21st century!  Support The Prometheus Project!
