I have other priorities-- but if sci.cryonics were to be moderated, then I
would want that done by someone who is impartial so there wouldn't be any
potential for ill-will to flourish. I know that you have to propose new
usenet groups in alt.config (and a vote is required before they can be
newgroup'd), but I don't know if a vote needs to be taken to moderate an
unmoderated newsgroup. Does anyone know?

In my opinion, the anonymous poster has demonstrated their incompetence
and some of the replies they got were pretty good too. They at least
demonstrate that you can't just knock over the idea of cryonics without a
serious and substantive argument! For me though, it's fairly easy to just
delete the offensive news and establish a global killfile which is what
I'd recommend others do as well. -dc
