As the creator of the Prometheus Project (although not its name), I can state categorically that I did not even think of the moon shot. Furthermore, I believe that there is virtually no similarity between it and the Prometheus Project and that any comparison is bordering on the ridiculous. The 10 years came from a simply doubling (to be conservative) of estimates which had been made (and published on the Internet) for the time that it would take for a full bore effort to produce fully reversible brain cryopreservation. I also extended the time to 10 years because I knew that success in raising the required funding would require more than this "simple" goal. It would also require at least a good chance to convincingly demonstrate to the public at large that the restored brain was *alive* with all its memories and mental faculties intact (at least as much as they would be from a similarly traumatic currently standard medical procedure). I welcome criticism because that's the only way in which I will learn to modify the project pledge campaign to be more successful (as with the alteration announced in cryomsg #6676, which has immediately resulted in an additional $85K per year in pledges), but try as I may, I cannot find anything in your criticism which I can apply to advance the Project. -- Paul -- !!!!! REVERSIBLE BRAIN CRYOPRESERVATION *CAN* BE ACHIEVED IN 10 YEARS !!!!!
