A few months ago I was harshly criticized by Visser and Ettinger for questioning whether her CPA would work at slow cooling rates. I still think this is a critical question (a concern echoed by Thomas Donaldson on yesterday's CryoNet). Now that Alcor has the Visser rat heart model up and running in their lab, why not try repeating the rat heart experiment at the slow cooling rates large organs demand? If the experiment can't be made to work, that's a show-stopper right there for the cardiac application of the technology. Most importantly, let's see some brain EMs, and CNS toxicity studies. All the above could be done for a few thousand dollars, and if successful would make it much easier to raise vastly larger sums. *************************************************************************** Brian Wowk CryoCare Foundation 1-800-TOP-CARE President Human Cryopreservation Services http://www.cryocare.org/cryocare/ Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=6893
