Steve will post more details once they are worked out. Brian Wowk said: > Once donations exceed $20,000 Alcor will in fact pay 25% > of subsequent funds raised to staff members as a commission. > While I know nobody at Alcor is rich, or expects to get rich by > fundraising, I believe this practice is innappropriate. I agree. Originally Alcor was trying to motivate me to do full-time work outside of the cryonics community and try to raise some large donations from noncryonicists who want to help humanity but are not interested in signing up for themselves. The original contract between Alcor and myself should have been written to exclude donations from Alcor members or cryonicists. Several days ago I informed the Alcor board that I did not want to receive a commission from each donation an Alcor member makes. I am expanding that to any signed up cryoncists or any contributors who state they are thinking of signing up. I have not been happy with the agreement for a long time as I was uncomfortable receiving money from cryonicists. However, since the net amount to me was less than $2,000, I did not worry about it and had put off changing it until next year. However, now that it looks like Alcor has a chance to do some serious fundraising inside cryonics with such a splendid opportunity as the Visser research, it is time to make the changes, now. My present proposal is to receive $200 per month salary for all the work I do at Alcor (I work 20 to 30 hours a week here at present). Joe Hovey and Mike Perry to receive an additional $100 per month each for the overtime work they do on fund raising. (They have been averaging 5 to 15 hours a week extra on fundraising). ONLY on money we raise from outside the cryonics community (if any) we will receive some sort of different pay for our work as an incentive.
