The Prometheus Project
Convincingly demonstrated, scientifically proven and published,
fully reversible, long-term brain cryopreservation within 10 years.
New Non-cryonicist Pledger
As of midnight PDT September 30, 1996, the total of pledges is $308,700
per year for each of 10 years. The latest $1000 per year pledge came from
Data Recovery Services a Toronto firm specializing in recovery of data from
scrambled or damaged magnetic and optical media. I am particular proud and
happy about this pledge, because the owner of Data Recovery Services is my
best friend and former business partner Nick Majors. In fact, he used to
describe me as "the man who taught me everything I know about computers",
although his knowledge and skill at data recovery has now far surpassed my
own. I have tried with little success to get Nick interested in cryonics for
many years. Several weeks ago, I told him of my intense efforts with the
Prometheus Project, but his business is growing so fast that he has not had
time to even look at sci.cryonics. Last week, however, soon after I sent him
an email message containing all the latest Project documentation, he took the
time to scan it and phoned me with his pledge. He said that for the first
time, several of his doubts and concerns with cryonics were seriously
addressed. He was very impressed with the ideas and program presented and
felt that it deserved to be supported. He also told me that after he has more
time to consider the Project and understand it better, he will likely
increase his pledge considerably.

The 51 pledges total $3,087,000 over all ten years.
42% of the pledgers are not signed up with any cryonics organization.
