No apology needed. I didn't even expect anyone to reply except Brian (it was a letter to him, cc'ed to Cryonet). It's a rather minor event. >(Seems a little odd to be discussing this >in a public forum--but I guess Will initiated it, so he doesn't mind.) Nah, I don't mind at all. I'm not into the privacy thing. I won't mind publicity about my signup or suspension, either. >Hostile relatives have >been a problem--perhaps THE most persistently difficult legal >problem--ever since the early days of cryonics. Will, I believe you are >simply going to have to resolve this problem before you can feel confident >of getting frozen. Yup. That's one of the reasons why I haven't signed up. I could no doubt do it if I just put my foot down and said "I'm doing it and that's final", but it would not only damage my marriage, it would also threaten the provider. Depending on the persistence of the lawsuit, my suspension could wind up costing the provider far more than I give to them. Given that the #1 threat to patients has been financial failure of the provider, we would all be far better off by getting my wife to accept, and possibly even support, my signup. Looks like that will eventually happen. Time will tell. >If you want me to talk about cryonics with the person concerned, I would >be willing to do so. I appreciate the offer. Right now it looks like I'm doing better by handling it myself, but I'll remember your offer if the need arises. --Will Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=7038
