The choice of 23 years does puzzle me as well, (why not 25, 30, etc.) but
the low amount of time does not. I don't believe I'll be reanimated in 20
years, but future cryonicists might. This clause is probably to prevent
greedy heirs from getting a nice sum from this bank account, more than
anything else.

I fully trust my cryo-org, but I am a practical man. I think the more
entities that are "interested" in your safe return, the better. From what
I understand, these investment accounts can "look after" you when you are
suspended. Also, if they intend to hack out this account information from
me, I'm doomed anyway.

Of course, this capitalism we now live under is an experiment, and no one
knows if it will last or not. Cryonics almost assumes a utopian
environment, for a successful return, but until we know better, capitalism
is the only thing going. Additionally, my cryo-org is not a bank. As far
as I know, they won't take a sum of money, invest it, and care for it on my
return, that's not their business (and then they would have to worry about
laws against, perpetuities, etc.) that's why you have to look outside your
American cryo-org.
