I don't even know what the argument is about, but does anyone really think that it will matter to the persons we will be 1000 years from now? "Never" and "always" cause a lot of trouble in the world -- awfully static ideas for such dynamic beings as humans to carry around, don't you think? I suppose I don't say things like J.C. said for the same reason I've never (interesting... different connotation... my past is finite; my future is not) contemplated suicide -- I'm too optimistic. No matter how bad it is, I can look forward to when it will be better. Sometimes people are not mentally or emotionally prepared to be convinced of what you say, or even to consider it dispassionately. So be it. Agree to disagree, and maybe you can make some headway in a future argument. Don't waste your time, flirt with carpal tunnel, or raise your blood pressure over it. Life is too precious.
