X-Message-Number: 7246 Date: 02 Dec 96 04:33:28 EST From: Paul Wakfer <> Subject: Prometheus Project Update Another pledge of $2,000 per year for all ten years has come in from Cameron Neuman of Winnipeg whose wife Marta, a nurse, I got to know when she took the BPI Transport Technician Training course in September. The subject line of Cameron's email note to me was "Time to cough up". So the yearly pledge total now stands at $326,100 for all ten years. It's getting mighty close to one-third. In other news, I have been in correspondence with Brian Delaney who started sci.life-extension. He is soon to be incorporating a non-profit and 501(c)3 organization to fund life-extension research and for the purpose of having an organization which is independent of any manufacturer to runs quality control type assays, and to report on life-extension nutrients. He has readily agreed to accept donation pledges (and later payments) for the Prometheus Project and to give receipts for these. He will let us all know when he has his organization set up and has acquired 501(c)3 status. Readers may remember that Loren Hardy of the World Humanitarian Resources Network made the previous pledge and wrote an inspiring note about the Project. Now Loren has made the following offer: He will trade pledges for web site hosting, design and advertizing services. He will give the purchaser a receipt for services which can be used as a business expense tax deduction when the payments are made. He is even willing to start the services immediately, *before* pledge payments are even made (how's that for confidence in the Project!). And he will, in addition, give the share voting proxy to the pledger. This expenses tax deduction method could also work for individual donors who have trusts set up. Loren Hardy may be contacted at: and his web site address which has a very extensive cryonics page and will soon have a life-extension page is: http://www.nu-world.com/~whc. I urge everyone to check out his site. -- Paul -- Phone: 909-481-9620 Pager: 800-805-2870 HELP TO ACHIEVE - PERFECTED SUSPENDED ANIMATION WITHIN 20 YEARS!
