The whole style and tone of the advertisement was inappropriate for any legitimate organization - let alone one already fighting against perceptions that it is a nut cult or a scam. With the repeated arm-waving about "Don't be left out! Only 120 places!" this package looked like junk mail designed for suckers. I see this kind of thing in the trash that I get every day from pyramid marketers, stock touts and other such bottom-feeders. I didn't expect it from Alcor. Yes, we need better marketing to tell our story. But this is not better marketing; this is WORSE marketing. Please stop. It makes a very bad impression. Even I, a committed and fully signed up suspension member, find myself wondering what kind of group Alcor really is, to send this thing out. Please tell me that we hired a new consultant, that everybody in the office was sick for a week and therefore nobody checked his work before it was sent, and that he's been fired. But don't tell me that this kind of solicitation has become our policy! Steve Jackson - yes, of SJ Games - yes, we won the Secret Service case Learn Web or die - http://www.io.com/sjgames/ - dinosaurs, Lego, Kahlua! The heck with PGP keys; finger for Geek Code. Fnord.
