Subject: Another Patient

On Dec. 7 the Cryonics Institute--with the cooperation of the American Cryonics
Society, as well as others who prefer not to be named--received its 21st human
whole-body patient for long term storage in liquid nitrogen. This was another
unfortunate case of patient and family being unprepared, and suspension
conditions therefore poor.

The patient had made known his desire to be frozen, but had not made any
arrangements. His children honored his wishes, in spite of the difficulties and
even though the cost was by no means insignificant to them. This is unusual;
ordinarily one finds at least some in the family opposed to spending the money,
if not opposed in principle. Here we had love and honor.

No need to belabor this latest lesson: Make your arrangements without
procrastination, while you are able.
