Given this computational limitation, the X-ray holography approach I suggested
earlier logically proceeds the use of transmission electron microscopy with
computed tomography. That is, one does not have to solve the computational
problems before transferring information into a compact and stable
representation.

However, the production of coherent X-ray sources and appropriate storage
materials are not obviously simple extensions of current technology. (Anyone
know about this?)

I guess the question of relative practicality is related to the amount of
information needing for section storage (before the image analysis associated
with tomography).
