But in his Anger Michael has made proposals which must not be allowed to stand. "We must find a way to stop the Gerald Feinbergs of the world from leaving us, even if it is their fondest wish to do so." Wrong! Nobody has the right to freeze someone against their will. Period. We demand that society recognize our right to choose to live, and we must recognize that others have a right to choose not to. Similarly, the well-meaning suggestion to publish the names of those who begin the signup process, so that others can harass them into finishing, is thoroughly unacceptable. This would be a gross invasion of privacy - and Michael, surely you realize that from a practical standpoint it would discourage signups. I would never have started the signup process if I'd believed that I'd get weekly calls from cryo-Moonies nudging me along . . . Respect individual liberty even when it makes stupid decisions.
