Subject: Book Title

About twenty people have sent suggestions to me for a title for the book
that I'm writing about cryonics. Some of the ideas were very clever.
Thank you!

I appealed for titles because I had reached an impasse with my publisher.
Five years ago, when I first wrote a cryonics book (which turned out to be
impossible to sell), I titled it LIFE UNLIMITED. This year I proposed
using this same title for my new book. The publisher wasn't satisfied;
they proposed titling it THE END OF DEATH. In my experience, most books
with DEATH in the title don't do too well, so I wasn't happy about this.

Since I had run out of ideas, and since it looked as if I was stuck with
THE END OF DEATH unless I found a better counter-proposal, I appealed to
Net users. Robert Ettinger's suggestion was my favorite: LIFE WITHOUT
LIMITS. Maybe I liked it because it was similar to the title I had
already proposed. But actually I liked it *better* than my title.

Anyway, I passed everyone's ideas along to my publisher. After due
discussion (and some other ideas of their own) they finally decided ...
to go with LIFE UNLIMITED, my original title.

I do appreciate all the assistance I received, and I'm sorry none of the
suggestions was used. The selection process was not under my control.

The book itself should be out this fall, if I finish writing it in time.
