Olaf, please do not ridicule me for wanting to avoid using a word which may inspire negative reactions from religious. Calling it living, longevity, or survival may avoid accusations of "playing God". Avoiding negative reactions is important to me; The fewer enemies I have the more secure I feel. It is a sugar coating. If we do not inspire any arguments we will live happier lives. I should have said more precisely: "The notion of immortality is at this time ridiculous anyhow" If my inexact use of language caused you distress, I apologize. However, I find it difficult to grasp, that you could consider yourself a 'notion'. Mike Perry, Cryonet Message # 8064: >Governments could be a greater threat than religion. >"Secular" governments often (though not always) take their >cues from organized religion, especially on matters of life >and death. Once again, though, the threat from govern- >ments is a serious one. Thanks, Olaf, for pointing this out. The most depressing thing is, that Canada appears to have recently declared DHEA and other substances as illegal on the ***urging of Germany***, which is actively lobbying her trading partners to adopt restrictive policies, concerning alternate health, similar to her own, much to the liking, I conjecture, of the large pharmaceutical companies.
