X-Message-Number: 8120 Date: Mon, 21 Apr 97 12:10:25 From: Mike Perry <> Subject: CRYONICS many-worlds I thank Yvan Bozzonetti for the reference on many-worlds. A quick check of my references, and in particular, a 1995 book by Victor J. Stengler, *The Unconscious Quantum*, which is somewhat hostile to many-worlds and favors another, single-world interpretation, shows no mention of either Adrian Kent or this 1990 paper. It appears then that this "refutation" (if that is what it claims to be) of many-worlds has not taken the physics community by storm. In any case, though, I must allow that many-worlds cannot be considered a scientific "fact" with the same standing, say, as Darwinian evolution. It makes a convenient foundation for some of the arguments in the book I'm writing, but I realized, on thinking, that it is not absolutely necessary--I will note some alternatives too.
