See "An Improved Composition for Embalming Fluid to Preserve Cadavers for
Anatomy Teaching in the United Kingdom" (J. Anat. 182: 295-297 1993)
This describes the advantages of using embalming fluids based primarily on
industrial methylated spirit.

As an alternative to aldehydes or alcohol, zinc solutions might be used.
