There is a rocket science term, "brenschluss" (I may have the spelling
wrong) which is the point at which a rocket is traveling at the velocity
of its exhaust, so what exits the nozzle is at zero velocity re the
ground.

Now that's a bit obscure. I suggest "crossover", for crossing over from
mortality to immortality....
