Reply to Hara Ra: I thought I discussed that issue in the same Cryonet as your
comment on it. If you have more to say, please say it. Of course, both the 
standard Turing machine and the real-number Turing machine are highly abstract
ideas about computers (NOT computers themselves) and cannot be criticised on
grounds that they are impractical.

That doesn't mean they say nothing at all to us, however.
