Subject: glutamate concern

I wonder have any Cryonics organisations addressed the problems of
glutamate overproduction during body cooling? And could it be averted
or minimised by dietary supplements prior to deanimation?

My concern on this issue was aroused after reading through the Science
Guide News Update at:
     http://www.scienceguide.com/News/News_Articles/Article_22.html

which summarized:
 > Cooling the body for heart surgery causes an overproduction of the
 > neurotransmitter glutamate, an excitatory amino acid, and can leave
 > the nervous system vulnerable to damage from the start of the cooling
 > process until up to eight hours after recovery, a Johns Hopkins
 > animal study suggests. This contradicts previous theories that brain
 > damage occurred only during the initial recovery period.
