Hi again!

Hara Ra has actually brought up a THIRD reason for not signing up other than
the others (or is it a 4th?). Just to keep count, here are the ones I've
noticed in this discussion:

1. Skepticism about whether or not cryonics will work
2. Fear of social isolation after revival
3. Fear of social isolation before suspension ie. joining a cryonics society
will make you look weird and lose you all your friends
4. Unconscious desire for death due to strong dislike of life

Not that someone might not have more than one of these reasons, or that
one reason may really be a way to hide the real reason/s.

It would be generally interesting, I think, if someone can come up with a
5th reason distinct from the others.

Incidentally, Alice Miller's book (which I found hard to get) is quite
interesting indeed. She is American but works in Switzerland. Just how
many people had the early experiences she describes is hard to piece out,
since those who had them try to keep them unconscious. Her ideas follow a
Freudian like pattern, but our unconsciousness does not deal with sex
at all --- it deals with the brutal treatments we got as very young children,
regardless of our sex (or at least, that some of us got).

		Best and long long life,

Other reasons quite welcome. I doubt that we've found a complete list.
