REASONS WHY SOME DO NOT CHOOSE CRYONICS

1. unwillingness to face death (closely related to 1. and 12. below)
2. traditional lifespan painful enough they donÕt want another
3. donÕt believe cryonics will ever work
4. fear of social isolation upon reanimation
5. fear of social isolation now
6. Belief that spending so much money to come back is sinful. Variations:
   -- contributes to overpopulation
   -- will cause stagnation of species
   -- squanders resources thus increasing poverty

7. Belief that cryonics can work without belief in competence/goodwill/viability
   of present cryonics organizations
8. Belief that cryonics will ruin oneÔs possibilities in the Hereafter
9. Fear of slavery on revival
10. fear of severe pain, discomfort, before,during or after suspension
11. never having given the matter serious thought (may relate to No. 1 above)
12. unconscious belief that death only happens to others, combined with

    unpleasantness of thinking about your own death (see 1. above)
