Mike,
I am simply stating that happiness is the moral purpose of one's life and life
is the standard of value---the which one gauges whether an action is good or
bad. Why would someone need ethics, which states or tells a person what they
should do or what actions to take, if they are guaranteed of being alive no
matter what. True just because they are alive doesn't mean they will be
happy. There are plenty examples of that but without the need for ethics and
without living an ethical life then how can one gain happiness. Happiness
just doesn't happen? That is because there are no causeless emotions. All
emotions have causes. Immortality isn't going to happen through cryogentics
and forme that is o.k. I just want to use the technology so that I can be
unfrozen when possible. But, this technology won't make one happy.
