John Clark is a bit wrong about the superchiasmatic nucleus. Yes, it is one of our main clocks. BUT its role as a clock has been known by scientists studying biological clocking for more than 10 years, at least. In that sense it is very much not a NEW clock. For what it's worth, in my science reports prior to PERIASTRON, and in PERIASTRON now, I have tried to follow reports of clocking because they may uncover a connection with aging --- even though, so far, no such connection has arisen. They may ultimately provide an explanation of why the lifespans of different species can differ so much. 2. I suggested an arrangement with 21st Century Medicine as a possibility. The Life Extension Foundation would work equally well. I am not a principal to either of these and have no control over how they would or would not respond. I will say, though, that if it were to be an association with the Institute for Neural Cryobiology the problems of lack of structure which Paul's efforts had (and to be fair, with the Trust structure of FLLS and others he was working on fixing) would not arise. 3. To Robert Ettinger: Bob, it seems to me that what we most want now is for Paul Wakfer to provide his own plan for his succession. ANY NEGATIVE COMMENTS AT ALL ABOUT HIS PAST ACTIVITIES, so long as they are public comments, is not going to help that process. If you want to argue against Prometheus as Paul formulated it, then please hold your fire. I am not taking any position here about the merit of your arguments, but about their current effect. The old structure of Paul's now history. It serves no good purpose to bring it up again. IF a means can be worked out by which most or even all the money so far pledged can be devoted to research in cryonics, then everyone will benefit --- including you. And sooner this happens the better for everyone: ESPECIALLY older cryonicists such as yourself. So Paul wants to have first try at that. He started Prometheus, and if he decides to quit he should be responsible for working out a way to continue it. If he fails or takes too long others will start doing so, but that time is not yet. Please leave him be, for now. Best wishes for everyone, and long long life, Thomas Donaldson Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=9020
