Subject: Cryonics stats! (CryoNet Posting #9096)

It's new this month, and there's no history online yet, but in the "Alcor
Phoenix Online" (thanks to Roderick Carder-Russell's efforts) there's a
graphic of a table we publish each month, giving the number of Suspension
Members, Persons in the Signup Process, and Associate Members broken down by
State (in the U.S.) and country, worldwide. With time, as we put the data
for past years online, those who wish to analyze trends (at least for one
organization) will have more figures to work with.

More significantly, if (as I think) we are about to hit a steep upward "knee
in the curve" as a result of Jame's Halperin's "The First Immortal", such
data will give us a month by month published assessment of what is
happening. Since you will see it in terms of those who are subscribing and
sending in application forms (with $150), as well as those who are signing
up (and, sadly, dropping out - the "suspension member count" is the sum of
those two), there should be a lot of useful indices, in geographic spectral
form.

For those who wish to see the current status without hunting around through
a lot of links, the URL is:

(that's on Roderick's site, linked out of Alcor at this time). If you want
to access the "Alcor Phoenix Online" at the most direct point within the
Alcor site, then use:
