Hi.

I apologize for getting straight to the point but please understand that
I am
desperate, since I don't live in the States, have limited financial
resources
and a very dear person of mine is probably in need of Cryonics.

I have a few questions about a person very close to me who has
incurrable
advanced-stage liver cancer. Age: 76. Psychological health: Excellent.
Sex: Female. Qualities of Mind: Compassion, kindness, a rare type of

human being, likely to benefit future generations by mere existence.

Anyway...

I read the costs FAQ and it seems that 42000 dollars are needed for
neuro cryonic suspension. We can't afford the 140000 dollars that are
needed for full body cryonics. And in any case, the person is old, and
is likely to need a brain or head transplant in another body, sometime
in the remote future, when this becomes possible.

The first question that arises is this: What is the legal status of a
person
who has decided to have her brain or head stored cryonically? Is the
person considered dead or alive, in the United States? (sorry for asking

a question countless others have asked before, and I know I am impatient

and should first read the available FAQ's, but please direct me to
them).

In the rest of the world (outside the US) is the person considered dead
or alive?

The person is a pensioner. Is there a way to store her pension legally
till the much wanted time of 'resurrection', so as to finance possible
treatments, and a recovery, etc? I can't really help her at such a time,

since I will probably die myself a few months after she dies, and the
only way she can survive in a future world is what she receives now
as a pension, stored in an account to be opened following instructions
at the time of 'resurrection'. Mind you, the next person likely to need
cryonic suspension after her is myself, but we can discuss my problem
in the coming months. For me there is still time. My income is low but
some solution in my case can be worked out.

Thank you very much for the opportunity to ask these questions from
the other side of the globe, and please understand my desperation.

Kind Regards
George
