X-Message-Number: 9481 From: Ettinger <> Date: Mon, 13 Apr 1998 22:24:47 EDT Subject: Policies of Organizations POLICIES OF ORGANIZATIONS In "Personal Note" I suggested that organizations refrain from commenting on each other in public, or to inquirers. Platt (Sci. Cry. 4/13/98 02:52 EDT, subject "Personal Note") only quotes a portion of that suggestion: >Let each organization, >in its own publications and on its own web page, advertise its procedures, Then he says, "O.K., go ahead. We've done this for about three years now." Last time I looked, the CryoCare web page had not been updated since 1995, perhaps because of the CC policy of turning away new members. But Charles wades in with a provocative, gratuitious attack on CI through Cryonet and Sci. Cryonics. The main thrust of my suggestion was simply to avoid ANY comment on other organizations--on a web page, in print, or in any other manner. Simply supply inquirers with your information and advise them to get information about other organizations from those other organizations. Let the inquirers make the comparisons, or have their designees or personal advisers make the comparisons. In my opinion, that is the ONLY way to avoid unseemly and often counterproductive clashes of claims, accusations, counterclaims and counteraccusations.
