I agree completely, but note that (I think) Mr. Ettinger does, in
fact, believe that it is an on/off proposition, or (at least) that
a minimal freezing procedure is entirely satisfactory.

Of course, once you admit that there may be some discrepancy between
the likelihood of success of one type of cryonic cooldown/storage
process and another, it only makes sense to try and optimize the
procedure.  But, lacking _any_ data at all about how cryonics will
be implemented in the future, it's still a matter of opinion as to
whether a less damaging procedure will have any significant benefit
over a more damaging procedure.

In so far as opinions such as Mr. Ettinger's exist, the discussion
will inevitably continue.
