To Scott Badger:

The idea of offering a free suspension to someone famous has popped up
and even been done several times. So far, NO recipient of such an offer
has taken it up --- a strong suggestion that it is quite useless.

If someone famous actually came to us, and could not afford a suspension,
that would be different. But fundamentally it seems like a way to
spend time and effort without return.

Bob Ettinger (so far as I understand his views) has actually come to
the position that if someone does NOT want to be suspended that
impugns their claim to fame and even to any special understanding. That
seems a bit strong to me, but I still do not think we would get very
far by offering suspensions to any famous people.

Best and long long life, with suspension,
