While videotaping this year's Alcor conference was considered we decided 
against it largely because of prior experience with the Foresight 
conferences -- which had revealed some major drawbacks:
     1) Making high quality videotapes tends to be disruptive of the conference
     2) The organizational overhead and cost is significant
     3) Few people actually buy the tapes

Foresight dropped the practice after a few attempts.  For those interested, 
the videotapes of the Fourth and Fifth Foresight Conferences are available
